What water treatment is needed when you have city water
There really isnt much you have to do health wise that you need to do to your water.
All city supplies are tested daily and are certified safe.

Everyone seems to want to remove the chlorine from water but you have to be careful because once you remove the chlorine you start growing bacteria in the water because it is stagnant.
Like a dirty pond. We have all been told not to drink water from a stagnant pond.
It is generally not a good idea to treat the whole house to remove chlorine. You are better off treating it at the end of use.

Recommendation 1.
For city water we recomend a water softener for the whole house filtration.
It has no ill effect and it softens the water, eliminated hard water spots, Iron and helps the appliances last longer. (washer and heater and dishwasher)

Recomendation 2.
For drinking water you can add Reverse Osmosis in the bathrooms and the kitchen.
It will remove everything you might be concerned with and does not promote as much bacteria problems. You can hook it up to the refrigerator and have a sink faucet as well.
You might not need it in the bath unless you really drink a lot of the water.

You might also want to consider a water distiller if you want the purest water possible.
This would go after Reverse Osmosis.

If you want to remove the chlorine in the showers you can add a shower filter.
These work pretty good without adding bacteria.
