Filtration
|
APS Water offers both membrane and depth filters.
Typically depth filters are made by winding fiber around a hollow and slotted tube. When water passes through the fiber and into the tube, the fiber removes the particles and holds them.
The first step in most water purification systems is to remove the particulate matter via depth filtration.
Typically membrane filters have a sumicron pore size, thus particles and bacteria cannot pass through the membrane, and remain on its surface.
Included in membrane filtration are reverse osmosis, and ultrafiltration.
In order to prevent submicron particles from entering product water, filtration is used a final step in deionization systems.
