Question
Using a carbon filter first,CF19H1, then the HC191H1-D on city water for a steam-humidifier on a environmental chamber. Controls temperature and humidity. How many gallons should the hi-capacity deionizer w/dye "filter". These did last for months, now it is about a week? Just ordered and replaced these two in January. Any suggestions?
Answer
Capacity of the filter really depends on the feed water quality. The more stuff in the feed water, the shorter the life.
Time is not a good measure, you would need to know how many gallons vs the amount of continents.
I am not sure how the water tables are where you are right now. If you used a combination RO/DI the filters would last at least 15X longer.
You could either add a small RO (which would eliminate your carbon) or you could add an RO/DI which would replace both.
This high capacity four housing lab water system is designed to provide up to 3 l.p.m. of ultrapure water exceeding ASTM and CAP Type I, II or III specifications.
