Question
Hi what is the average capacity of the Barnstead D8816 and D8818 DI water cartridges before they need to be replaced? Also what is the maximum flow rate for these cartridges? I have the Barnstead D0807 DI Bed cartridge holder
Answer
The capacity of the filters is totally dependent on the amount of contamination you feed them. There is no set gallon capacity value I can give you. For deionization it will remove roughly 500 grains.
Those two filters not only removed dissolved metals but also oxygen while releasing sulfate that also eats up the capacity. You would not use these filters unless you had a specific need to remove oxygen.
The maximum flow rate for these are 3 liters per minute.
This high capacity four housing lab water system is designed to provide up to 3 l.p.m. of ultrapure water exceeding ASTM and CAP Type I, II or III specifications.
