My Pinellas County wet lab has an E-Pure system. I installed new D0836, D0803, D5027, and D5021 cartirdges. The Ohm meter reading for the water coming out of the E-pure system was over 12 mega ohms prior to changing the cartridges, now it is right at 9 megaohms. Why is it lower? I need the water at greater than 12 megaohms.
Answer
There are several things that can cause that.
1. Not enough recirculation time. (needs up to 24 hours to rinse up)
2. Meter cell dirty or out of calibration
3. Bad filter (very unlikely). Switch the 3rd and 4th filter and see if that makes a difference. If so, leave it that way.
A better kit for you to use next time is the B-CDDO2 kit. It will make the purest water and it also is much cheaper.
This high capacity four housing lab water system is designed to provide up to 3 l.p.m. of ultrapure water exceeding ASTM and CAP Type I, II or III specifications.
