Question
I am seeking a double distiller to produce pure water I want to remove all trace of industrial chemicals and pharmaceutical drugs I need purity that exceeds levels possible with standard commercial distillers matching that of pharmaceuticalbiomedical grade water Single pass distillers can produce impure water when contaminant substances have a boiling point close to that of h2o Techniques such as double distillation cycles and fractionation have been applied in chemical engineering and distillation of spirits to address stringent purity requirements There are numerous double distillers advertised from Chinese manufacturers targeted at medical and science applications What is available in the US at affordable prices for home use
Answer
You may be over thinking this just a little bit. Yes there are compounds in water that if they have a boiling point less than or equal to water will carry over into the purified water. They are called volatile organic compounds. Distilling water twice as in a double distiller does nothing to remove those contaminants since they will just be carried over as they did the first time. Reduction of these volatile compounds can be done with a vent. In order to get a true doubled distiller (vapor compression) that will produce what you ask would cost over $100,000 and would never be worth it for drinking water. You can go with a standard USA made commercial distiller that has volatile venting here : https://www.apswater.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=1028&cat=Combo+Units+-+Commercial+%2F+Laboratory+Distilled+Water+System If you want something that is as pure as you can get and produces water far more pure than a vapor compression distiller you can use a laboratory water polisher like one of these : https://www.apswater.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=564&cat=Laboratory+Water+Systems+For+Ultrapure+Applications+-+UV+%2F+UF+Water+Polisher+Systems There is nothing that makes water purer than a lab water polisher.
