Question
Hi we have a Barnstead NANOpure DIamond in our lab that has been acting up recently The problem is the quality does not raise past 12MO in recirculation and does not pass 14MO when water is drawn Also when starting a continuos draw water will stop to flow after about 700ml The pump does not start as usual imediatly when water is drawn but only a couple of seconds later 510 The Water supply is working as usual so I think there might be a blockage in the system I have replaced the cartridge already and applied the cleaning solution but this did not solve the problem I think it might be a blocked Ultrafilter which we haven't changed in a long while 3 years I was wondering if the described errors might be due to the filter being blocked.
Answer
It sounds to me as if it is just time to change the filters. WHat you describe is flow and water quality. It should read 18 megohm even when you dispense water.
The first check would be to remove the 0.22 bacteria filter and check the flow. If there is any air in the final filter it will not flow very well.
You can also bypass the UF to verify flow there.
If it has been three years though, you are past dues to change the main filter pack, the bacteria filter and the ultrafilter membrane.
