Smart2Pure with elevate Mercury (Hg) levels

Date : 12/17/2014
From : Tom Sienkiewicz

Question

Why are my smart2pure blanks for 1631 LL HG made from TYPE 1 water showing detectable levels of Hg in the range of 2-20 ng/l

Answer

I would not expect to see that. Can you tell me what the resistivity of the water was that your drew off of it?

Activated carbon, Reverse osmosis and Deionization all remove Mercury. Since it has a fairly high molecular wt. if you be filtered fairly easily.

Some things I can think that would cause that :

1. The output water not being 18,2 megohm
2. Contaminated Glassware
3. Testing Equipment Calibration

I wouldn’t first suspect it is in the water.
