Question
Hello I recently inherited a lab space with a Barnstead E-pure Series 1090 DI water filter and am unsure of how to maintain it and make it operational again The filter has been inactive for almost 2 years and after reading through the manual Ive gathered that the final filter will need changing after a full sanitation and cartridge replacement The manual has written directions on how to sanitizereplace the cartridges but I was wondering if there were any videopicture tutorials available Also Id like to verify that the D50223 SANITIZATION CARTRIDGES and FL703X2 02 MICRON FINAL FILTER are the correct products to order for sanitizing this model and replacing the filter Thank you Peter Siegfried
Answer
There is no video but it is a simple process to do that.
1. Turn off water. 2. Open outlet valve to bleed off pressure 3. Remove all the filters 4. Install the sanitization filter in the first housing. 5. Reinstall all the housings. Do not install the filter on the outlet. 6. Turn on water and power with outlet valve open. 7 Allow the system to refill and bleed off air. 8. Once full, close outlet valve and allow the systems to run overnight. 9.Turn off water and power (outlet valve still open) 10. Remove sanitization filters and re-install housing. 11. Turn on water and power (outlet valve still open) 12. Allow the system to flush out sanitant for 15 minutes. 13. Turn off water and power (outlet valve still open) 14. remove all housings and rinse in sink. 15. Reinstall new filter set (b-cddo2 Kit) 16. Turn on water and power (outlet valve still open) 17. Allow system to refill and bleed of air. 18. Close outlet valve and allow system to run until the reading is greater than 18. (may take overnight) 19. Install new outlet filter. 20. Use water.
