Due to a death in our organization we have temporarily changed our ordering procedures. We are now allowing phone in orders for in-stock items only, paid with a credit card. We are not currently accepting purchase orders. Existing orders will be processed. Thank you for your understanding.
Hi Amy I am emailing you regarding my labs barnstead epure system When I turn on the system the mega ohm meter reads 88 but then immediately reads ERR This is strange to us because though ERR does show up when we use our system it usually shows up after the meter has reached over 179 mega ohms Weve contacted you guys about the err showing after 179 and were told that it shouldnt be a problem Now that ERR is showing up right after 88 megaohms is reached I think this might be a problem Why is our system doing this and how should we fix it Thanks
Answer
ERR Means the resistivity of the water is higher than 18.3 megohm. The highest water can be is 18.25 megohm so the system is telling you some thing is wrong. This is usually caused by air in the system or by a bad meter. In the manual you can follow the instructions to clean the cell. To clear the air, remove the bacteria filter and open the outlet valve at a high flow until the air clears.
This high capacity four housing lab water system is designed to provide up to 3 l.p.m. of ultrapure water exceeding ASTM and CAP Type I, II or III specifications.
