Due to a death in our organization we have temporarily changed our ordering procedures. We are now allowing phone in orders for in-stock items only, paid with a credit card. We are not currently accepting purchase orders. Existing orders will be processed. Thank you for your understanding.
We have a Millipore AFS 3D water system We started using your filters for the system at the beginning of the year There were problems with the rejection rate being to low I was told the RO membrane needed to be replaced This was done and seemed to take care of the problem for about 2 months The rejection rate is again giving too low readings I have replaced all filters but not the RO membrane again How often does this membrane need replacing Are there any other problems that coule be causing the issue with the rejection readings What is the product number I need to order for another RO membrane if needed Thank you Diane
Answer
The membranes last usually a year or longer. If you are getting low rejection it is the membrane and not the other filters. The membrane makes the packs last longer so it is important. The thing that causes low rejection is chlorine in the water eating the pores on the membrane. It is imperative that you change the prefilter pack (PT-PACK) regularly. The only real way to know when it to measure the chlorine levels in the drain of the system. Some system have added carbon before them. If the city shock chlorinates due to rain or other contamination, it can overwhelm the pretreatment and cause early failure of the membrane.
You can always call and we can talk you through figuring out what the problem is.
