Pretreatment for a Barnstead Distiller

Question

I have an older barn stead water still which quickly builds up minerals What is a good pre filter to demineralize and remove sediment prior to distillation

Answer

Your best bet is to pretreat it with Reverse Osmosis. You can still use regular water for the condenser but you should feed the boiler with RO Water if you don't want to have to clean it constantly. Something like this is an inexpensive solution to your problem.
