Utah Public Health Labs performs testing for Ricin per Laboratory Response network LRN guidance Their protocol requires endotoxin free ETF water We've used Nanopure filtered water without issue but currently have issues with organics in our source supply blah blah causing us to look at the water for Ricin testing What suggestions can you offer for ETF water
Answer
Yes I can help you with that.
I am not sure which nanopure system you have but if you have ultrafiltration in it, you can achieve the quality you need.
Without an ultrafilter membrane, you will not be able to make pyrogen free water consistently.
The membrane also helps with organic contamination but usually what you are seeing can be caused by organics in the feed water, bacteria in the system or exhausted filters assuming you use and organic scavenger filter.
If you use a combination of reverse osmosis and a lab polisher with UV oxidation and Ultrafiltration membrane you would be able to make low organic and pyrogen free water consistently.
