Question
I want to how much resin beads to use for softening water with a total hardness of 4350 mg/l.assuming i want about 200 gallons(imperial gallons)of soft water.
Answer
That water would be 254 grains (4350/17.1). 200 gallons would require about 0.1 cubic feet of resin regenerated at 15 lbs per foot to produce 200 gallons of soft water. It would be important to match the flow rate to the amount of resin and that would have to be designed correctly.
