Question
Im replacing resin beads in my 12 year old home water softener (Accusoft compact model). I have disassembled and the screens, tank, valves, etc. are in okay shape. I will need 0.75 cubic feet of standard resin. Your website suggests that there isnt much difference between brands- but the Purolite C-100-E NA-75 is $135 and the no-name "Softener Resin 3/4 Cubic Foot UPS Box" is $76. Is there a difference?
Answer
There is a difference since the original article was written. The Purolite C-100 is FDA food grade where the others are industrial grade for boilers and such. If you are going to be drinking the water you will want the Food Grade resin. You can find that here : https://www.apswater.com/shopexd.asp?id=16937&product=C-100-E%20NA-75+Purolite+C100E+Water+Softener+Resin
