Put Water Softener In Bypass

Question

Amy I am trying to put an old Parks Water softnener in bypass mode for a shock chlorination of a well It is an rt9408 Can you tell me as you face the softnener should the bypass be pushed to the right or the left

Answer

it depends on which bypass you have. You can put the softener in backwash mode where you will hear water flowing, then turn the bypass and it should stop. When it stops, it is in bypass.
