My water supply is very hard but also has a high salinity TDS is around 4130mgL Conductivity 6020uscm Hardness 129 degrees French Will a standard water softener work for me with this high salinity input water Will the high salinity confuse the system into thinking its regeneratingt
Answer
Water softeners do nothing for salinity. They only trade hard minerals like calcium and magnesium for sodium. You would have to use either distillation or high pressure reverse osmosis to reduce that ultrahigh TDS.
