There are many different types of resin. the two most popular ones are :

Water Softener Resin

There is about 640 grains per pound of water softener resin.

32000 grains per ft3 / 52 lbs per ft3 = 640 grains

Mixed Bed Resin

There is about 192 grains per pound of mixed bed resin.

10000 grains per ft3 / 52 lbs per ft3 = 192 grains per pound
